Appropriate Global Best Practises
in all Operations
FFC implements appropriate global best practises in all its operations. In this regard it has already committed to obtaining Forest Stewardship Council certification (FSC) for the products it will sell into the market. Operationally the management will ensure that all the activities it will be doing will be in accordance with the principles of being socially acceptable, environmentally responsible and economically viable. All the activities are conducted in compliance with applicable local, national and international laws and regulations and those of the associated organizations to which FFC has aligned themselves.
From the base line study which has already been conducted, it has been determined that the project area is in a multi-cultural municipality which includes indigenous people, cattle herders, tenant farmers and rural local communities. It also includes areas of significant biological and eco-systemic diversity representing the folklore of the settlers of the Colombian plains. This calls for the design and implementation of practices aimed at maintaining the region’s culture and ecosystems and as custodians of this land resource and a partner in this region, FFC will ensure that all this diversity will be responsibly managed.
