Forest First has Planted Over
From its first plantation at the end of 2010 until the end of 2017, Forest First has planted approximately 8,000 hectares of Eucalyptus pellita and Acacia mangium on its own plantation and approximately 500 hectares on land owned by third parties.
Forest First uses the most up to date technology available. We have imported new equipment into Colombia to improve operating efficiencies through mechanized land preparation, planting and maintenance. We have also implemented global silviculture practices to maximize productivities across the plantation. We intend to have our plantations fully certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) and other applicable certification standards.
To manage our forests, we utilize sophisticated forestry management software to ensure the optimal use of our land, quality control, documentation and audit. The forestry management information system provides detailed operational data, is spatially linked through a GIS and has an interface to the financial system.”
